What affects the price

• The cause. A failed sensor, a blocked drain and a control board can all produce similar symptoms but differ a lot in parts and time.
• The part for your brand and model, including whether it has to be ordered.
• Access. Built-in, panel-ready, stacked or tightly fitted appliances — and galley appliances on a boat — can take more time to reach.
• How many problems the diagnosis finds.
• Whether a second visit is needed to install an ordered part.

How the diagnostic visit works

1. 1Request service by phone, through the form on this site or by email. Requests are accepted any time; technician visits are Monday – Saturday, 9am – 9pm.
2. 2The technician inspects the appliance and finds the cause. The diagnostic is $69.
3. 3You receive a written estimate for the repair before any work starts.
4. 4You decide. If you approve, the $69 is credited toward the repair. If you don't, the diagnostic is the only charge.
5. 5If a part has to be ordered, we tell you the expected timeline. Approved repairs carry a 12-month warranty on parts and labor for the same repaired issue.

How to prepare for the visit

• Find the brand, model and serial number on the appliance's rating label; your owner's manual shows where it is.
• Write down the symptoms, any error codes and when the problem started.
• Tell us about access: gate codes, building or condo rules, parking, or the marina and slip for a boat.
• Clear space around the appliance if you can do it safely.
